Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited condition, affecting the lungs and digestive system. Blockages to these organs can occur due to the secretion of thick, sticky mucus. Cystic Fibrosis is now often detected soon after birth due to the 'newborn blood spot' test, that is carried out.
