Effects of Hydrocephalus Hydrocephalus has a variety of characteristics. If your baby is born with Hydrocephalus the physical characteristics can be distinctive, they can have an unusually large head, a bulging soft spot on top of their head, their eyes may be looking down, and your baby's muscles may be stiff and prone to spasms.
