Effects of HSMN

HSMN will affect each individual differently according to which specific nerves are damaged. Symptoms generally appear gradually over a period of time and may include:

Muscle weakness
Muscle wasting making the limbs appear thinner
Altered sensation
Reduced balance, falls
Abnormalities in the foot including high arches and claw toes
Fatigue
Pain in the joints
Muscle cramps
