Physiotherapy aims to reduce pain through stretching soft tissue and exercises to reduce swelling. Every child will present slightly different, therefore different rehabilitation goals will vary however treatment goals will aim to ensure your child can complete their daily activities at school without being affected by the condition. Your physiotherapist will help you find methods to control your symptoms and reduce any side effects from the condition such as TENS machine which provide transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation which helps control pain. A variety of other treatment methods can be used such as acupuncture, taping, walking aids or splints may be appropriate.

Hydrotherapy is another method of treatment which will help relieve symptoms. Heat will help circulation around the joint and decrease any stiffness caused by inflammation.
