Introduction to Cerebral Palsy

Cerebral Palsy is a neurological condition and is described as damage to the brain and nervous system which occurs either in the womb or within the first 2 years of life. This damage to the brain affects the signals being sent to the muscles of the body.

Children with Cerebral Palsy often have difficulty performing normal movements because the brain is telling the muscles altered messages which can cause an increase or decrease in tone and often a decrease in co-ordination.

Our Specialist Neuro paediatric physiotherapists at Manchester Neuro Physio can provide expert treatments, which can help develop your child's movements and aid your child's development by providing fun and exciting treatment sessions to improve your child's function.
