Epilepsy

Epilepsy

Epilepsy results from an abnormal over stimulation of brain cells causing repeated seizures. Epilepsy often occurs in early childhood but can result from trauma for example a brain injury.

Epilepsy can cause loss of consciousness and convulsions (uncontrollable shaking of the body).

Physiotherapy can help with the secondary complications of epilepsy such as broken bones after falling or if your child hits their head when falling we can treat any neurological problems if necessary, such as loss of balance, unco-ordinated movements, and muscle weakness.
